Finding an enthusiastic subject who really wants to get some pictures is always a lot of fun. Jeannie had enough of her mother asking for pictures, so she decided it was time to go get some. Light was falling fast by the time we met up and we used our towns river walk to steal some pictures, most to the hoots and hollers of local patrons and passer-bys. As soon as a group would even think about gathering, we were off to the next space. Later Jeannie mentioned she felt like a movie star. And, who is to know?
I also know her mother and she is one who does not get along with computers very well. I wanted her to have something that would make it easy for her to share her daughter with. A CD or DVD slide show was something I knew she wouldn’t use, but maybe once. Digital images were out of the question as there was no email addy.
This gave me the chance to check out the accordion print Wave Book. This is a really cool little item that carries ten pictures in a small folding accordion style portfolio. The outside is bound in leather and there are many choices including a digital image wrap and different papers and finishes. I chose a metallic with a glossy UV coating. Virtually indestructible with a real POP to the colors. Easily fits in a pocket or purse and comes in a set of three at a very reasonable price.
This shoot was a lot of fun and really reminded me of how much there is to offer in this area in regards to photography. Try it yourself. Take a stroll around town with a subject and shoot where ever you are. The lighting is challenging and your mind is free to soak up the sights while constructing the next shot.
Enjoy!
