Kite Boarding Takes Over Skydive Sebastian

Lead by Lyle Presse of Kite Board Sebastian, skydivers trained in kiteboarding in order to compete in the “Flying Under Canopies and Kites” event held in Sebastian’s river and at the Skydiving Center.  Lyle partnered with the Kiteboarding legend, Neil Hutchenson of the SlingShot Kite Brand and both are having a blast with pre event production. Local Skydiving Staff and fun jumpers rallied with lessons in order to meet the pre-qualifications for the event which combines skydiving and kiteboarding disciplines.  The event was expected to draw over 50 contestants in it’s first run. “The new market of Kite boarders finding their way to skydiving is growing fast as Sebastian is being found as a premier kiteboarding training area.” Says Lyle …

This yearly event was blessed with incredible weather as snowbirds flocked from all directions to do BIG CReW in Z-Hills, Florida. Lead by Mike Lewis, organizers ran non stop dives that were incredibly dirt dived and debriefed from top to bottom. So a while back, while intensely reading my Rangefinder and bumming that I couldn’t go to WPPI this year, I thought about my biggest and closest community, colleges and crazies. I came across several articles that were incredibly inspiring.  They always seem to pop up again and again.  The greats, those photographers who did something simple, set a trend, preserved a section in time of our heritage, of culture itself. You know what I am talking about, the greats like Ansel Adams for outdoor photography and the like.
